Seniors: British Literature
As we read British Literature, we need to ask ourselves the following essential questions:
- Why do we read?
- How does this reflect the time period that it was written in, and how does it relate to the period I am living in?
- What are prevalent themes in literature?
- How do social, political, and economic events effect literature and vice versa?
- What kind of impact does word choice have on meaning?
- What literary devices are used and how do they help the author convey meaning?
- How can we clearly convey our ideas in writing, as well as during discussion?
- How can discussion help to clarify our thinking?
